Park Beach Plaza Development Update

We are pleased to announce that the first stage of the centre development is now officially under way.  With the construction of the new purpose built Bus Interchange nearly complete, the path is clear to start construction of the multi deck undercover car park.  The new multi deck undercover car park will see the addition of 400 car parking spaces with at least 300 of these fully undercover as well as an undercover walkway so customers can access the centre while staying dry or shaded.

Edwards Constructions has been appointed as the construction company to lead the project for the multi deck undercover car park.  Edwards Constructions are a regional based organisation with a 15 year history of projects in the Coffs Coast region.  Edwards Constructions are innovative construction contractors who have been working within Regional New South Wales since 1981 specialising in the commercial, industrial, aged care and government sectors.  Their strength is their mobility and the strong relationships established with sub-contractors and suppliers. Their policy is to employ apprentices on all sites, use local tradesmen and local suppliers wherever possible.

This development will bring a considerable economic boost to the local economy including a much needed shot in the arm for the local construction and building industry with a forecasted 300 jobs created during the construction period.

The focus of the construction project will be the northern corner of the car park facing the Pacific Highway and whilst changes to parking will be kept to a minimum there will be some alterations to lanes on the access road from Arthur Street across the front of the centre near Australia Post and the Commonwealth Bank.

In addition to these major works the substantial refurbishment of Target continues in the centre.  This month works within the new look store have moved into the front section of the store, with the stores new entry statement currently being reconfigured in the construction area.  While these works take place the store is continuing to trade as usual with many sections of the new look store now in full operation.

Along with these works the amenities in this area of the centre are also receiving a major facelift.  This will see them fully refurbished to incorporate the new environmentally friendly amenities bringing these toilet facilities in line with the standard of the newer amenities throughout the centre.
